Moving Voiceguide To New Host

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I am helping a client of mine with a new project. VoiceGuide 7.0.6 was found on an old XP machine that we are replacing. Unfortunately and prior to my dealings with them, this PC was hit by ransomware. I am unable to open any portion of the program and haven't seen any Voice Guide services running either. That said, if the PC is ever off, my contact at the client informed me he receives multiple calls from outside agents stating that they are having issues.

I am replacing this machine with the following:

i7-6700
16GB RAM
Windows 10 Pro

I am unable to navigate old settings or import any registration information. Settings can be tuned and adjusted but without registration, I am assuming I will come into errors very soon. The program does open on the 10 Pro machine for the time being.

So my questions are as follows:
Is there another way to retrieve registration information? I'm not sure how much info the client has as this PC seems to have been sitting in the server room for an extended amount of time. I assume little to none in terms of old sign ins based on other dealings with them.
Was there ever any options to save settings / data / profiles elsewhere in terms of a cloud service?
Without being able to open the program, are there any files that may show me previous settings that I can manually copy in?

I appreciate any and all help on this. I'm only getting my feet wet with the situation now that the new PC is up and running.

That CPU and Memory would be sufficient for running a system that handles up to a few hundred simultaneous calls,

Windows 10 Pro

Would you be able to use Win2008 or Win2012 instead of Win10?

The server class operating systems are more suited to systems that are to run for months/years without any interruption - and as such are better suited to run telephony systems which are usually expected to run for such long periods of time continually with no downtime. Windows 10 is not intended for use for such roles.

Please contact sales@voiceguide.com with name/company for which the registration was issued. Dialogic card serial number or related HMP registration information may be enough as well.

Main configuration files are VG.INI (in VoiceGuide directory), and Config.xml (in VoiceGuide's /conf/ sub-directory).

Copying those files and used scripts and sound files would usually be sufficient.
