Linking A Certain Station (extension) With A Voicemail Box

Recommended Posts

I have a Panasonic KX-TA824 PBX, and I hooked up a proprietary telephone to one of the stations.

1. I currently have my script so that when a customer dials in and inputs the extension, it'll transfer to the appropriate station. But how do I make it so that if nobody picks up, it will go to that employee's specific voicemail box? This seems very basic, but I can't figure it out.

2. I'm using a Dialogic D4PCIUF card. I have a transfer call module that dials out to an cellphone but it doesn't work. Only calling other extensions works. Why is this? Is this because the card does not have dial out ability? But the PBX does, right?

Thanks.

Sounds like you should be using the 'Monitored' or the 'Announced' transfer options.

Many PBXs do not support transfers to external numbers. Looks like your PBX does not support this feature.

Hi,

Okay, announced transfer was what I was looking for. I have a few problems with it:

* how do I control how many rings occur before the FAIL pathway is taken and the user is transferred to vm?

* right now, if the employee doesn't pick up at their station, their phone just keeps ringing but on the customer's end, all they hear is silence. They should be able to hear that it is ringing and nobody is picking up... how do I do this? Thanks.

For the second question, to be more specific, I don't hear the ringback tone - how do I enable this, as it is very important? Thanks.

You need to use a Timeout path. The timeout value is in seconds, not Rings.

Looks like the PBX you have does not play music while the caller is placed on-hold...

With Monitored and Announced transfers the caller would not hear the ringback tone... they are after all 'on-hold', and not connected to the ringing extension.

I think that what you really want is for the PBX to be setup to transfer unanswered calls to another extension (which you would set to be the Voicemail/IVR extension), but I suspect that that the PBX you have does not support that function either.

Could you recommend a PBX that can do all of these things here and what we have discussed before (including inband signaling)? Can KX-TDA100 do all of these things?

You'd need to speak with the PBX suppliers to confirm what features each PBX supports.
