Running As A Service

I want VoiceGuide to run regardless of who is logged in to my machine or even if no one is logged in. As it stands now IVG looks as if it will only run if I put it in Start Up for "All Users" however this will only load when someone logs in. This is a major issue for me since this is a family machine and I have multiple users. Is this possible ?

VoiceGuide at this stage does not have an option of running as a service - but you can use any of the 3rd Party apps to make it run as a service:

'Run as Service' option is on the cards, but a few months off still...

I can confirm rbuve's post. I just finished setting up XYNTService here, and it starts VoiceGuide just as if it were a service.

Keep the peace(es).

Hello everyone,

Thanks for your putting this on the forum.

I was looking for such a program but now is it good to hear that.

I downloaded the program but I don't know how to go further.

I copy the downloaded file into the directory: C:\Service_IVR\XYNTService

Voiceguide is in the directory: c:\Program Files\VoiceGuide\VgMulti.exe

I have some questions:

1) Is my configuration correct?

[settings]

ServiceName = XYNTService

ProcCount = 1

CheckProcess = 30

[Process0]

CommandLine = c:\Program Files\VoiceGuide\VgMulti.exe

WorkingDir = c:\Program Files\VoiceGuide

PauseStart = 100

PauseEnd = 100

UserInterface = Yes

Restart = Yes

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I tried to install and start the service by typing in the command prompt:

XYNTService.exe -i

but I am getting an error:

'XYNTService.exe' is not recognized operable program or batch file.

2) What is the problem why I am getting this error message?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

At startup I put the voiceguide software to start when a user logged into the computer.

3) Must I remove voiceguide from starting at logon because of using the XYNTService?

Thanks to you all.

I hope you can help me.

Regards,

Diana

Have you changed to the correct directory first?

Yes.
