Configuring Vmb

Recommended Posts

Hi Support,

Can you tell me what the differences are in the Voicemail Manager?

I see no differences when I call into the system.

I put 30, 60 90 seconds but I am not getting it to work.

Maybe Voicemail Manager v6.0.5 has a bug.

Can you check it for me please?

Thanks a lot

The problem is:

I want to change or to maximize the time the caller can speak his/her message.

A) Minimum message lenght: 0 seconds

B) Maximum message lenght: 60 seconds

C) Default mailbox max store size: 60 min

A) Minimum message lenght: 0 seconds

B) Maximum message lenght: 90 seconds

C) Default mailbox max store size: 60 min

I changed the 60 seconds in "B" to 90 seconds but I cannot see anything that it is working.

question:

1) what is the problem? I tought it was for that reason to maximize or to minimize the time the caller can leave a message but it is not working. Can you check this for me please.

Thanks

Are you pressing the "Reset all voicemail boxes" button after changing the settings?

The settings will only be changed on exit of the voicemail manger app.

So you need to change the settings, press "Reset all voicemail boxes" button and then exit the application.

Hi support,

Thanks for your help.

I did not pressed the "reset all voicemail boxes to these settings" button.

But now it is working.

Question:

1) Can you configure this to effect 1 voicemail box and how do you do that if it is posible?

Thanks

Hello Support,

I have some questions

1) I do not understand this: Default mailbox max store size: 60 min

Does this mean that a caller can talk 1 hour if the setting is Default mailbox max store size: 60 min?

If the caller talk 60min the mailbox is full and then other cannot leave their message any more?

2) If that is correct, how must storage is that in mb or kb?

If the Minimum message lenght is 0 seconds

3) Does this means that if I put 5 seconds that all the messages which are smaller then 4 seconds will not be send or you will not see them in Voicemail Mnager?

4) What is the maximum you can configure for a mailbox?

i know that you can use the whole hard disk but how you configure that in seconds?

thank you

You'd need to edit the VmBoxList.xml file directly. That file is in VG's \data\ subdirectory.

The default set of voicemail scripts have those checks disabled, but the ability to set this limit has been retained in the voicemail manager app.

Just record a few sound files and see how large they are. Sound files take up about 12KB per second in total.

Correct.

30000 minutes. This is 500 hours = about 20 days of continous recording... but as mentioned before: the default set of voicemail scripts have those checks disabled, but the ability to set this limit has been retained in the voicemail manager app.

Hello Support,

I edit the VmBoxList.xml file.

<?xml version="1.0"?>

<VmSystem>

<VoicemailBoxes>

<VoicemailBox Id="0002">

<Pin>5612</Pin>

<Name>IVRDATA</Name>

<Ext></Ext>

<Description>Storingsaangiften</Description>

<PhoneForward></PhoneForward>

<PagerNumber></PagerNumber>

<PagerMessage></PagerMessage>

<EmailForward>dianarogger@yahoo.com</EmailForward>

<OnReceive></OnReceive>

<Groups></Groups>

<CopyTo></CopyTo>

<FtpUpload>0</FtpUpload>

<DeleteAfterForward>0</DeleteAfterForward>

<MsgLenMin>5</MsgLenMin>

<MsgLenMax>60</MsgLenMax>

<VmbMaxSize>1800000</VmbMaxSize>

</VoicemailBox>

>>30000 minutes. This is 500 hours = about 20 days of continous recording... but as mentioned before: the default set of voicemail scripts have those checks disabled, but the ability to set this limit has been retained in the voicemail manager app.

So 30000minutes = 1800000 seconds

question:

1) how can I enable those checks?

I want to use voicemailbox 0002 to use the whole hard disk

2) Is the canfiguration above good?

minimum message lenght is 5 seconds

maximum message lenght is 1800000 seconds

Thanks

Current set of released voicemail scripts allows you to use the whole hard disk.

To set the max message length you should be changing the MsgLenMax entry.

Best for you to just use the Voicemail Manager to change these settings rather then editing the VmBoxList.xml file manually...
