Voice Guide Hangs Phone Lines Engaged

Recommended Posts

Hi,

We are running voice guide for dialogic on a d41JCT. I leave voice guide running for about a week making and receiving calls and every so often I notice lines staying permanently engaged. Sometimes all 4 of the lines stay engaged ie I cant dial in but according to voice guide it looks as though the lines are clear and ready to receive calls. I have run the trace log when this happens and tried making calls only to reciev an engaged signal and no action is recorded in the trace logs. The only way to fix the problem is to close voice guide and restart it, then all the phone lines clear and inbound and outbound calls can be made.

This has become regular now, it happens about every 1-2 weeks and it means sometimes customers cant get through to our system.

Your help is appreciated

Regards

Dean

Which version of VoiceGudie are you using?

What version of Window are you using?

If the callers get an engaged signal then it means that the phone company did not recognise the Dialogic card hanging up at end of call.

Please post some traces capturing the 24 hours or so before this problem occurs, then we can see if there are any errors shown there.

Somone calls in

Press to transfer

Announced transfer to a mobile phone.

Person who makes the call hangs up

Then mobile hangs up.

Line still remains connected. See attached screen shot and event trace

Running Voiceguide for dialogic Version 6.0.2332

Please update to current version (v6.0.3107 currently) and see if the problems still occur on your system with this new version.

Please remind me to Install a new version. Do I need to do all of these steps if not which ones do I do

To update VoiceGuide to the "for Dialogic" version you will then need to:

1. Place Config.xml and ConfigLine.xml in VG's \data\ subdirectory

2. Place ktTelControl.ocx, MsComm32.ocx and libexpat.dll in Windows' \System32\ subdirectory

3. Place VgMulti.exe, VgGsd.exe, VgDialer.exe and VgLv.exe in VG's main directory, overwriting previous files.

4. Open a DOS Command Window. (Start->Programs->Accessories->Command Prompt)

Change to Windows' \System32\ subdirectory using command:

cd c:\Windows\System32

and run the following commands:

regsvr32 -u tapiwrap.ocx

regsvr32 ktTelControl.ocx

regsvr32 MsComm32.ocx

2. Place new ktTelControl.ocx in Windows' \System32\ subdirectory, overwriting previous files.

3. Place VgMulti.exe, VgGsd.exe, VgDialer.exe and VgLv.exe in VG's main directory, overwriting previous files.

Stop VG, then delete file OutDial.mdb in VG's \data\ subdirectory, then restart VG.

Ensure you do not have the old version of ktTelControl.ocx on the system.

Maybe best to just re-install from scratch. ie. uninstall first & delete all of VG - backing up your scripts first - and then re-install VG and apply the 'VG for Dialogic' patch (newest).
