Hmp Driver With Dialogic Telephony Board On A Same Server

Recommended Posts

Hello support team,

We have a customer that would like to keep a Dialogic 24 port card in a server to get Windows server to run SAPI.

They want to use VoiceGuide over HMP/SIP on the same server.

Can you have HMP and a Dialogic card (unused) in the same server with VoiceGuide?

Thanks for your time in advance.

The Dialogic card can remain in the server which is running HMP.

Sounds like this must be a JCT series card (D240JCT ?), and not a DNI series interface card. JCT cards cannot be used by HMP. The card will just sit there unused.

Is the SAPI license on that system linked to the Dialogic card?

Thanks for the reply.

Yes, it is D240JCT and the SAPI our customer is using will be Microsoft SAPI, and the reason why the Dialogic card should remain in the server is because Microsoft SAPI would not be available unless either a Dialogic card or a sound card is installed.

If you know other ways to ensure Microsoft SAPI, thus TTS engine can run for HMP driver without one of those, please let us know.

Thanks.

We were not aware that Dialogic card presence alone in the system would be a factor in SAPI operation.

What hardware will be used for the new system and which version of Windows are you looking at using on the new system?

Does the server have any onboard sound hardware?

Our customer is currently gathering information to build a new IVR server with HMP driver, which will replace the current IVR with D240JCT in order to reduce operations cost.

We told them to install a sound card to enable SAPI, and think a dialogic card would be an alternative to a sound card since we never had TTS engine issue with VoiceGuide + Dialogic card environments.

So, do you mean they must install a sound card on a new server? The Windows server version will be either 2008 or 2012..

Note sure if Sound card/hardware presence is a definite requirement for correct operation of latest SAPI versions.

If selected server does not have sound hardware on the motherboard then we would advise allowing for PCIe sound card in the budget, but not installing the sound card until after it is confirmed that SAPI is not working without it.

Yep, that was our suggestion to the customer. Since you have confirmed HMP will work with the presence of the board, we will have them test SAPI before purchasing a sound card.

Thanks a lot for your help again.
