Telephone Numbers Loader

Recommended Posts

We are a monitoring company. As a potential new service, a customer wants us to monitor a '1-800' number. We would call every 30 minutes and listen for a pre-recorded 11-second voice message. After listening to message, we do not speak, just hang up and call again in 30 minutes. Also, this will only be done between 7PM and 7AM and on weekends. If we do not get this pre-recorded message, we are to send an email to alert him of a potential problem.

Your software looks like it could do what we want. Right now we only have a 'Creative Modem Blaster V.92 DE5621'. I am trying to run some simple tests using the 'Telephone Numbers Loader V4.9.0" and it doesn't seem to be working. As a simple test, I would like to configure it to call this number every 5 minutes, listen to the pre-recorded message, hang up after 11 secs, and then wait 5 minutes to call again. I know we will need to do more work, scripting, recording, etc for phase II testing but just trying a simple test.

I see the following message in the VoiceGuide Event Trace Log: "Ready to Dialout : 52 (out of 57)". I also created a "DialListNew.txt" file in the VG data directory with no success. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is quite easily set up in VoiceGuide.

To queue a number of calls just define a "DialListNew.txt" file with each entry specifying a call to be made at a particular time - you can quite easily have this file generated using excel or by many other means.

Once this file is loaded VoiceGuide Dialer will make the calls as they become due.

The event trace message "Ready to Dialout : 52 (out of 57)" indicates that there are 57 entries in your DialList, of which 52 are ready to be called - if VoiceGuide Dialer is not making any of these calls this can be due to one of two reasons:

1. The "Allow VoiceGuide to dialout on this line" is unchecked (see View->Line Device Config menu)

2. You are using the Evaluation version of VoiceGuide which after dialing out 5 or 10 times needs restarting...

I'd suggest:

1. Stop VoiceGuide

2. Use the Telephone Number Loader's "Delete DialList Database" option (see the "Script Params" tab) to delete the entire DialList database,

3. Create your "DialListNew.txt" file with the list of calls, each scheduled to dial at an appropriate time

4. Start VoiceGuide - it will read in the file and start dialing when calls become due.
