Mark Message Urgent.

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Read the help files but could not find an answer to the following situation.

When a caller leaves a message for say Ext 101, which on the IVG server would be mailbox 101. How can i program the mailbox to prompt the caller to ask if they would like to mark the message they are leaving as urgent , and if marked urgent, be able to un mark.

eg.

Please leave your message after the beep. When finished press the # Key

Caller speaks the message , then presses the # key.

IVG responds as follows:

To play your message, please press 1

To re-record your message, press 2

For delivery options press 3

(caller presses 3)

To mark your message urgent, press 1

(if caller marks it urgent) the next prompt is to change it to non urgent

To mark your message private press 2

(if caller marks it private the next prompt is to change it to non private.

To send this message now press the # key or something.

Please advise, or if someone has already achieved this in a script, i would appreciate a copy if it's not asking too much.

Thanks

This can be achieved by modifying the scripted voicemail system (available in v5.0 onwards).

Marking the message urgent should not be too difficult - but how should this message be treated after it's marked urgent? Should the word "Urgent" be played when this message is listened to? Should some other delivery options be available for urgent messages versus non-urgent messages?

Scripted Voicemail was implemented to allow these types of modifications - but you will probably need to find someone with VB Script (or Visual Basic) knowledge to have the voicemil system modified in this way.
