Dialogic Wish List

Recommended Posts

I'm sure you folks are busy. And because that's a Good Thing, here are some items to consider in order to stay busy.

I miss the Command Line Options that used to let me do things like have VG start minimized to the System Tray. Could you include those options in your Dialogic version of VG?

And while you're at it, could you add a Delay option? Something like Delay=60 would trigger a 60 second sleep/delay/wait/whatever before attaching to the Dialogic card. This would give time for the Dialogic hardware to fully initialize before VG goes for it.

A couple of years ago, it was suggested that one could use a batch file routine, called from the StartUp list, to delay the start of VG. This is what I currently do. It works fine except the window that kicks off VG stays open.

Perhaps there are other options (e.g., starting VG as a Service - but you still need to delay long enough for the Dialogic card to initialize), but the concept is to provide a method for "automatic startup on boot/reboot" for VG. Maybe I just need to dig around for a way to prevent the batch file's window from opening...

Just seems neater to have a Delay feature in VG itself.

Enjoy!

Can't you just close the 'BAT' with an 'EXIT' command on the end???

(but I agree - building in a delay to VG would be cool)

I'll agree that since VG needs to have a built-in way to start itself and operate properly when the computer reboots.

This Should Be Built-In!!!

For a programmer I would not think it would be very difficult to add this to VG. It also makes more sense for VG to detect that the Dialogic cards are ready before starting than trying to time the event.

I wish for support during USA Business day.

Even if it were only for a few hours.

The free Support Forum (this forum) answers most questions within 24 hours (often a lot quicker then that). That's pretty good for a free software support forum in this industry...

Wow.....Let's see I just paid $800.00 for software that doesn't work as advertised.

I wouldn't need this forum if the program worked.

As to the response time for questions on this forum, it may be true that you respond within 24 hours but do not necessarly solve the problem within 24 hours.

The problems I've been involved with have run on average much longer.

Voicemail/return problem origionally started by RobG on Dec. 27 solved by you updating software on Jan. 9th.

My current problem I reported on Jan. 16 @ 10:35 p.m. you responded on Jan. 17 @ 8:45 a.m. Very promptly. But look at your reply.

You have the script set to "start without answering the call" - can you try without this setting and just having the script start normally after the specified number of Rings?

Sure I could but why would I want to? The manual says the program will work the way I'm trying to use it so why doesn't it?

I posted two times later in the day on the 17th and then again on the 18th at 7:12 a.m. Still no response. I think I've provided enough information to warrant a response.

If your working on a solution why can't you just tell me that.

You did the same thing with the Gosub/Return fix. You said nothing about there being a problem with the program and I and others spent hours trying to figure out what was wrong.

As far as this support being "Free" it may appear to you to be free but it is costing me far more than the price I paid for the software.

I see that you have responded to 5 post today on the 18th. Two post were not even technical guestions. One was your response to this thread and another to some guy that was posting questions that didn't apply to VG software.

So that left a total of 3 Post that you responded to. One of those was a follow up to your solution for the gosub/return problem so that left 2 responses all day. Can I say WOW again.

I think my frustration lies in the fact that you do not communicate very well.

And still my $800.00 software will not even answer the phone when it rings.
