Announced Transfer Problems

Hi I have had an announced transfer module working fine for the last few weeks. For some reason it has stopped working without changing anything on the system. Now when you hit the key that transfers the call to another number you hear the numbers dial and the announced transfer message... I believe this is a problem with the hook flash. The hook flash is on a setting of 5 in the dialogic TSP settings. I increased it to 10 with no effect. The logs are below. Any suggestions are welcomed

Also to restart the dialogic system withough restarting the computer do I just open the dialogic configuration manager and use the red and green buttons to start and stop... I seem to get an error when I re-start using this method.. If you know of the proper way to do it would appreciate it as restarting our server all the time is a problem

you hear the numbers dial and the announced transfer message...

Your hookflash is too short... if using Dialogic's TAPI config screens does not work for you try using the '.PRM approach', see: http://www.voiceguide.com/vghelp/html/Dial...llTransfers.htm

do I just open the dialogic configuration manager and use the red and green buttons to start and stop... I seem to get an error when I re-start using this method..

The green/red buttons in the Dialogic DCM should be working with no problems - not too sure why this has stopped working for you as well - but it does look like both problems seem to have occurred at same time... are you sure nothing else got installed on this system?

I am having exact same issue as deanm.

 

I am running XP

Enterprise 4 line with dialer

proline 2v dialogic card

I tried to fix issue by deinstalling and reinstalling dialogic software 5.1.1 and sp1 then went back down to 5.01 which was working. Deinstalled and went down to voiceguide 5.1.7 (still did not work) went back up to 5.2.3a.

 

I have changed the configuration settings in the control panel (modem section) from 50 to 100 on flash time. It made no difference. I then went into the configuration file of vg and took out the rem ; and changed the figures for flash time. Still no difference.

I have had this problem for a long time and have recently upgraded to the dialogic version of voice guide in hope that it will fix the problem.

 

I have edited the TAPI settings of the hook flash and experimented with different times without success.

 

I have edited the PRM file in the dialogic DCM settings. I was curious how the system knows to look at one over the other. If they both do the same system how do you stipulate that the system should look at the PRM file versus the TAPI settings

 

My modem is the D41JCT, I have selected Country as Australia / New Zealand so the relevant file is an_41j.prm

 

I restarted the dialogic service after changing the file setting from 5 to 10. Incidentally none of the paramters were commented out with a #, which is why I asked the earlier question about how the system knows when to read PRM settings versus TAPI

When using VoiceGuide for Dialogic the hookflash length is set in Config.xml file. The Config.xml file is located in VoiceGuide's \data\ subdirectory. The following section of Config.xml should be edited:

 

<SetParm>

<Description>Flash time during dialing</Description>

<Key>DXBD_FLASHTM</Key>

<Value>10</Value>

<Default>10</Default>

</SetParm>

 

Setting is in 10ms units. A value of 10 represents 100ms.

I have managed to almost fix the problem. Turned out to be a Telstra problem. They decided to disable 3 way calling on 2 of our phone lines !!!! How frustrating.

 

Problem is now it does the transfer, calls the third party, then when the third party hears the message and press 1 to accept the call it wont connect the calls. It puts both parties on hold, then drops one of the calls.

 

It does the same if you reject the call.

 

Also I wanted to put the caller ID ($RV_CIDNUMBER) in the Text to speech message played to the third party when accepting the call. I inserted the above variable in the text file and its not working. Is it another setting in the config.xml file to trun on caller ID or do you do it in the voice guide line device congif. HAve tried the line device config

Trace shows that after dialing the destination number and starting the play the announce message:

The Dialogic card advised VG that DTMF 8 was pressed

so the call was dropped and VG went back to original call:

Also, CallerID was never provided on this call:

It should have gone to the fail path in the script then....

There is a problem when it comes to reconnecting back the calls whether it is !1 to go back to the original call (and play the fail path)

 

 

or !3 to connect the calls in 3 way chat.

 

Can you suggest a solution

!1 should have resulted in original incoming call being connected to and that caller should have heard the [No Connection] module playing.

 

If call was accepted (DTMF 1 was pressed) then !3 would have been issued...
