Trace Logs - Request By Adam

Recommended Posts

Adam asked me to post these logs in regards to an issue im having.

1) The calls take a long time to reach destination, atleast 30 seconds.

2) The test calls do not seem to be disconnecting properly.

The message does play, but im not sure it plays based on hearing a voice, it just plays automatically.

Trace shows three calls made by the system at 11:36:22 and the Dialogic card reported them as answered in about 30-40 seconds:

113650.779 18 17 state Human answer. Start [C:\Program Files\VoiceGuide\Scripts\yayitworks.vgs]

...

113653.779 18 5 state Human answer. Start [C:\Program Files\VoiceGuide\Scripts\yayitworks.vgs]

...

113656.389 18 11 state Human answer. Start [C:\Program Files\VoiceGuide\Scripts\yayitworks.vgs]

I can see that you are using "Robbed Bit" on these T1 lines and not ISDN. Please advise the configuration details of this Robbed Bit line.

We recommend using ISDN on T1/E1 lines, especially if the lines are used for outbound calls, like in this case. Calls connect faster when using ISDN and ISDN lines give much better notification of call progress and disconnection.

If you are having issued with reacting to call disconnect on Robbed Bit lines you need to confirm which A and B (and maybe C and D) bits the Telco is using to indicating call connect/disconnect, and alter the Robbed Bit config file which is used (pdk_us_mf_io in your case) appropriately.

You may also need to setup the tone detection to detect the Disconnect tone on Robbed Bit lines - see: http://www.voiceguide.com/vghelp/source/ht...ctiondetect.htm (ISDN lines do not need this).

If you continue having problems then please post the T1 config details and use the sys_infoDNA.exe/its_sysinfo.exe app and post its system summary output here. see: http://www.voiceguide.com/suppTechnicalSupp.htm

A possible reason why the system is taking so long to dial the numbers is that the system is configured to use really long DTMF tones when dialing and/or really long pauses between the DTMF tones. The sys_infoDNA.exe/its_sysinfo.exe status should gives information on the DTMF settings.

(ISDN does not 'dial' the destination number, the destination number is sent in the ISDN packet, so there is no delay due to dialing at all).

The config and traces looks fine so its very hard to say why the destination phone number takes a long time to ring. It doesn’t look as if the Dialogic card is taking a long time to actually dial the telephone number’s digits, so the delay could be on the Telco side.

You would probably need to speak with the phone company supplying the T1 lines to trace the calls and see what is happening (and perhaps perform the tracing on the T1 line that's plugged into the Dialogic card if you have the necessary equipment).

This tracing is usually a lot easier on ISDN lines than on the Robbed Bit lines that are used here. Calls connect faster when using ISDN and ISDN lines give much better notification of call progress and disconnection.
