D/600Jct 1E1 As 2E1 And Configuration

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I bought D/600JCT-1E1 card (second hand) and after install in server DCM shows D/600JCT-2E1.

Test server has 2 cards:

1. D/600JCT-2E1 - (two E1 RJ-48C jack)

2. D/600JCT-1E1 - (one E1 RJ-48C jack)

Connected with CT BUS cable.

After configuration with Sample Config for 120 port using four E1s ISDN file VG monitor shows only 60 channels.

Questions:

1. Why VG monitor shows only 60 channels when DCM and configuration include 120 channels description?

2. Can I to connect (how) 60 channels to D/600JCT-2E1 (with one RJ connector)?

When running in evaluation mode VoiceGuide v7 will open a maximum of 60 channels.

2. Can I to connect (how) 60 channels to D/600JCT-2E1 (with one RJ connector)?

An RJ-48C interface is an RJ-45 connector with pin assignments specified by ANSI to have a single 4-wire T1/E1 connection.

(see: http://www.dialogic.com/webhelp/NaturalAccess/Release9.0/Hardware_Connect_Manual/rj-48c_interface.htm and http://www.arcelect.com/rj48c_and_rj48s_8_position_jack_.htm )

An RJ-45 connector is the physical termination plug that in this case is attached to two pairs of twisted copper wires over a which the 2Mbit E1 signal is sent.

E1 carries 30 channels.

An RJ-48C interface only allows for one E1 service.

You can't connect two E1s to one RJ45. The socket on back of the Dialogic cards are wired as per RJ-48C - they only allow for a connection for a single trunk.

The D600JCT-1E1 has one RJ socket on the card - so you will only be able to attach a single E1 to that card.

A system that contains a D/600JCT-2E1 and a D/600JCT-1E1 has 3 RJ ports in total so you will only be able to attach 3 E1 trunks to it for a total of 90 channels.

DCM shows D/600JCT-1E1 card as D/600JCT-2E1

That is normal

.but it's not working.

The link show the standard RJ-48C wiring. (same as shown in links posted previously)

This is how all the E1/T1 connections to Dialogic ports should be wired, and it looks like you already have a number of systems running E1s.

When you say "it's not working" then what exactly is not working?

Where is the difference between D/300JCT-1E1 and D/600JCT-1E1?

D/600JCT-1E1 will let you do speech recognition on the E1 channels. Alternatively it will let you send/receive fax on the E1 channels.
