Transfer Call

Basically, we have only one problem. Transfer call. Everything else works outstanding.

When a transfer sequence is executed, we can hear (headset of the phone) DTMF, but not the Dial Tone before them. After Transfer, all we can hear (after DMTF) is silence and after timeout period, modem hangs up.

Note: We don’t have PBX – we are using phone line.

Modem that we have is Hayes V.90 PCI VoiceFaxModem and here is an event trace log:

Do the phone lines that you are using have the call transfer feature enabled on them by the phone company?

Can you transfer calls on these lines manually? If yes then how do you do the manual call transfer? do you press hookflash then the number then hookflash then 3? Do you need to wait till 2nd call is connected before you press 'hookflash 3' ?

 

It sounds like even the first hookflash is not recognized by the PBX (it sounds like it is too short), and as it's not possible to set hookflash length on most of the modems then your only solution is to get a Dialogic card...

 

Modems inability to regulate hookflash length is the main reason why we recommend a Dialogic card to be used whenever call transfers are required.
