Guest Henry Report post Posted 03/01/2004 10:23 PM I would like VG to answer calls as they arrive, play a greeting then forward the call to our receptionist. If she is already on a call I would like the new call to be placed on hold until she answers it. I am reading up on the Transfer call module which appears to place the call on hold if the module fails under an announced transfer however if the receptionist is already on a call then she will be unable to decline the next call so I believe the best option is a PBX blind transfer. Will the PBX blind transfer place the call on hold if the line the call is transfered to is engaged ? Thanks Henry Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 03/02/2004 12:30 AM Best option in situations where there is no CTI integration with the PBX is to use a chain of Announced Transfers. While VG is waiting for the receptionist to accept call the caller is on-hold (as intended). If you want to set up a queue of calls which need to be sent to a particular extension then it is usually best to see if your PBX supports an interface which can be used to find out if/when the extension is available.
