mikeraut Report post Posted 09/01/2015 11:47 AM Is this a virus? Kaspersky has picked this up ...as per attached png Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 09/01/2015 12:15 PM We tested that file with VirusTotal and it showed that all other virus checkers did not detect anything. Kaspersky report looks to be 'Heurystic' detection category that gets triggered when something just looks suspicious. Not sure what in the Line Status Monitor would have triggered that, but guess it would be related to the fact that Line Status Monitor attaches to various ports (local and/or remote). Please see VirusTotal report: https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/767f29b0581fb953dabba972cc16f3fbd70c223f5074a44c871d3926a6f3d486/analysis/ and confirm that vgLineStatus.exe has the same SHA256 as the release file that was tested (VirusTotal will confirm if it is or not if you upload vgLineStatus.exe from your system) Share this post Link to post
mikeraut Report post Posted 09/01/2015 01:25 PM Get 2/56 https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/767f29b0581fb953dabba972cc16f3fbd70c223f5074a44c871d3926a6f3d486/analysis/1441113819/ Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 09/01/2015 01:45 PM Again some sort of a 'Generic' warning. We will try to see on what basis these warnings are generated, but at this stage if the SHA256 of the vgLineStatus.exe on your system matches the SHA256 of the file we initially tested (which it does) then we are treating this as a false positive.
