Carphone Report post Posted 03/07/2004 06:40 PM Hi, my script is almost complete thanks to all the help i have recieved here. I know need to decide which liscense to purchase. At present I have voice huide running from my internal modem ( a zoom model recommended on this forum) and it works great. I plan to set up a premium rate number that will be diverted to my home number. Now at present if someone calls my service whilst it is already in use they are diverted to my voicemail. What equipment do i need to be able to cope with more than one incomming line? Obviuosly i will purchase the 4 line liscence if i can afford the required hardware to do this. Do i need a special account with my telecom? or do i just need a dialogic card? And one final question. As i am offering a premium rate service, is their a way i can stop my callers skipping through the menus by making early selections? A regular caller that knows the correct key presses would be done in half the time. I dont want this :-))) I hope someone can advise me. Kind regards Dan Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 03/07/2004 10:58 PM You just need a Dialogic card. A 4 port D/4PCI is about $500. You will need to order 3 more lines from your telco to make a total of 4 lines you can then plug into the Dialogic card. You need to tell the telco to route calls to the premium rate number to one of the 4 lines that you plugged into the card - essentially the 4 lines that you'll have will need to be configured as a set of 'rotary' lines and then a call the premium number will go to the next free line out of the 4. is their a way i can stop my callers skipping through the menus by making early selections? Yes. Just have two Play modules - one to play the message and the other to accept the input. The first module would not have any DTMF paths set, just a "timeout 0" path which will lead to the second module. The second module would have all the DTMF selection paths set. So any keypresses in the first module would be ignored. The first module can play the announcement which ends in "enter your selection after the beep" and then second module just plays the beep tone. The replay count in first module will have to be set to 0 in order to play the message just once. Share this post Link to post
