Guest IVR_Newbie Report post Posted 03/21/2004 07:30 AM I will be setting up a digital T1 (ISDN) on D/240JCT-T1 next week. As I need to determine which number the caller dialled to help determine which script to run, I have subscribed to a T1 service with DNIS support. Now my problem is --- how to capture / use the number? I have though there should be a Results Variable like a counterpart for $RV_CIDNUMBER to capture this number but seems not to have found it. Please help advise how I could get this info, as this is critical for my IVRS service that will need to support a number of different outgoing parties. Thanks! Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 03/21/2004 12:45 PM What ISDN Protocol will be used on the T1 line? Please provide as much info as possible, including the name of the telephone company which is providing the lines and location (City/State/Country). Share this post Link to post
Guest IVR_Newbie Report post Posted 03/22/2004 04:35 PM The particulars of the T1 ISDN subscription of my telco, which is located in Hong Kong, is as follows: 1. T1 (Bothway - to and from PBX) (I have advised that in my case, the line will terminate at the D/240JCT, and not PBX) 2. Line coding: B8ZS 3. Multi frame format: ESF 4. Line Signalling / Signalling Method: NI-1 (I was told this is Nortel signalling, though I only seem to see NI2 mentioned in most cases) 5. D channel non-facility associated signalling (NFAS) *** I don't know the difference between the 'Yes' and 'No' answer. Please advise how I may choose. The telco recomends 2. I think this is line per D-channel. 6. Release Link Trunk (RLT) The telco recommends to us NFAS with RLF, and says this is for NI-1 on DMS ONLY --- excuse me for my ignorance that I don't know what this is about and this also seems to be a subscription service. 7. DDI --- Since I'm not using a PBX, I think I don't need it. (I hope DDI is different from the DNIS function I am looking into.) 8. Selection Order --- The choices are 'Ascending', 'Descending', 'Most Idle', 'Least Idle'. I tend to choose 'Ascending', and am wondering if 'Most Idle' would be a better choice. Any advice? 9. CLI Delivery for originating/terminating calls (from/to PBX). Is that relevant for me? So, the above are what the telco asked me when I subscribe to their digital T1 line. Excuse me for asking so many questions in one thread! Many thanks again for your advice and help! Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 03/23/2004 01:05 AM If you are getting just one T1 there is probably no need for you to get NFAS, and there is probably no need for RLT either if you will not be doing many call transfers. (I understand you are doing an inbound only application) I think that DDI is related to DNIS here... Most Idle is not a good idea. Ascending or Descending is best choice. Definitely have CLI... knowing who is calling is usually highly desirable. When the line is ready and you have a 'solid green' light on the D/240JCT please email us and we will then let you know what to do next. Share this post Link to post
Guest IVR_Newbie Report post Posted 03/23/2004 02:43 AM Thanks for your useful advice. My application will also involve outbound call as well. As I will probably be scaling up on more T1 lines very soon, I'd better get NFAS and RLT as well. I will add DDI to get DNIS, and get CLI. As advised, I will get the D/240JCT working and then seek for your help then, around end of month. Share this post Link to post
