Multiple 4 port pci cards

I have two Dialogic 4 port pci cards. The system will only recognize one at a time.  If I put both cards it it will only see the card in the 2nd slot.  If I then remove that card it will see the card in the third slot.  Any ideas?

Are they PCI or PCI-Express (PCIe) cards?

Are they both the exact same model, or are they different models? What are the model numbers of the cards?

Can you also please advise details of the PC motherboard that you are using?

One is a PCI and one is a PCIe. I'll get model numbers and board info.  shortly

That might be the problem. Not sure if you can mix PCI and PCIe.
