Unable To Change Reclengthmax

Recommended Posts

My callers keep getting their messages cut of at 30 seconds exactly, so don't think this a silence detection problem (which is set at 20).

I found two instances of RecLengthMax in the vg.ini, one under [PlayRecordConfig] and again under [VoiceMail]. I set both first to 240 and then to 2400 ( which I understand equate to 4 and 40 minutes, respectively). But in testing and in practice, the message is truncated (following a polite announcement) at the end of 30 seconds. (Yes I did restart VoiceGuide after making changes to vg.ini)

Any help is appreciated.

Regards,

Les

Which version of VG are you using?

Could you please post a copy of VoiceGuide's Debug Printout which captures the problem, this will allow us to see what is happening.

(When running the script click on VoiceGuide's View menu and select 'Event Trace Log' option - any log information will then appear in this window. You must open the trace window before making the call.)

I can see from trace that the message is recorded in the Voicemail box (not when using a "Record" module as I originally though...)

To change the max record length of voicemail messages open Voicemail Manager, then go to "Global" tab and enter the new max record length...

(That sets the max voicemail message length globally, to change individual mailbox settings you can just edit the VmBoxList.xml file - look for the "MsgLenMax" setting for each mailbox.)

When I checked the Global tab in VoiceMail Manager, it showed max msg length of 2400 seconds (same as set in vg.ini), but would stilll only record 30 secs max. So, I went back to Global tab and clicked the button Reset all VMB, and it works properly now.

Thanks for your help,

Les
