SupportTeam Report post Posted 03/26/2004 11:42 PM It looks like the TTS engine all of a sudden does not generate sound file... strange as the trace shows that the TTS was responding OK to similar requests earlier in the call. There really isn't much that we can do if the Elan TTS engine all of a sudden stops responding... we have up till now not heard of issues with Elan TTS... To see closer what is happening we can look at the trace covering TTS generation task. If you are using v5.2.1 of VG please select "Save to file" check box on the VG Trace Log window and then reproduce the problem and post the trace titled MMDDsw.txt from VG's \data\ subdirectory. What happened to the other issues that you were experiencing earlier? I take it that they are now resolved? Share this post Link to post
Guest Dominik Report post Posted 03/31/2004 10:44 AM I finally got rid of ELAN, it's unstable and hangs VG A simple script (set variable in VB script than play it trough ELAN, than again ) and VG crashes completly. SupportTeam Report post Posted 03/31/2004 12:34 PM We have not seen a TTS engine hang like what you are seeing. (but we have never extensively tested Elan). From your comments I see that you are probably still using v5.1.x of VoiceGuide, and not v5.2.1 In v5.2.1 other lines will not be affected by TTS crashing and will continue taking calls... although if scripts are relying on TTS then there is probably no point since as soon as other lines request to use TTS they to will become effectively 'blocked' when awaiting for TTS engine to generate the WAV files... Guest Dominik Report post Posted 04/01/2004 08:25 PM Thanks for a hint but I've been using speech cube evaluation and I don't think that my questions will be answered. Moreover, I couldn't find any logs from the engine, except those in the system log (expiration date). I checked TTS on a script with one Play module, it hanged one line. Next, when I tried to repeat the test it worked. How bizzare. I can't define a frequency of hangs. I returned to the eldest version (static wav's) of my scripts, it works perfect on both VG 5.1.4 and 5.2.1 (currently installed). Best regards Dominik Share this post Link to post
