Guest hj Report post Posted 04/30/2004 03:52 AM You responded to my questions several weeks ago about the differences between Dialogic D/240 JCT and D/480 JCT cards. I am in the process of pulling the hardware together at this time. I have some follow up questions since I need to order a card but want to make sure I select the appropriate one since these specific cards are quite expensive. I will be using standard T-1 (not PRI) services. Question 1: When you make voice recognition available, will these two different cards absolutely work with your software or has that information not been decided yet? I want to make sure that what I purchase now will work with voice recognition on YOUR system. In other words: when your voice recognition becomes available, I would like the option to be able to purchase into it but I do not want to find out that my cards are not compatible. I will not have the ability to replace the cards at that point. Question 2: I will eventually need at least two t-1's but only need one to develop and test your new system for a least several months. I am considering on purchasing the D/480 JCT-2T1R2U card. This will give me two T-1 ports on the one card. My question is: Can I purchase your license for only 24 ports originally even though I have 2 spans in the system, but only one having an active t-1 connection? I can then purchase the license for port 25 to 48 when I fire up the second t-1. Can I just use a loopback plug in the un-used 2nd t-1 port to clear any trouble codes from dialogic or can I simply not configure it in Dialogic ? Question 3: I think I can use your evaluation copy for standard t-1 (not pri) for one port only (1st channel?). Am I correct on this? If so this will help in getting the hardware and telco up and running first. Question 4: I read through your inband signalling info a while ago and it mentioned that your customer support would help with the inband configuration for inband t-1 setup. I need *ANI*DNIS . Is this something that you could possibly supply me with because you already have it written or do I need to figure that out myself? Question 5: I was planning on using Win 2000 professional as the operating system. Is that still your recomended best? (which is quite ok with me), or would a "server" platform such as Win 2003 server be better? I am hoping to eventually fill out with more t-1's on the system. Thanks again for all your help. SupportTeam Report post Posted 04/30/2004 04:26 AM When you make voice recognition available, will these two different cards absolutely work with your software or has that information not been decided yet? If you will be using non-ISDN lines then you can use either the D240JCTT1 or the D480JCT2T1 cards. The Intel Dialogic cards designed to be used for speech recognition are listed here: http://www.intel.com/network/csp/products/6907web.htm Keep in mind that the Nuance speech recognition engine which it looks like VoiceGuide will be implementing as it's first supported ASR engine is quite expensive. The end user price is around US$2500/port (Tier B license). Most consider Nuance as the industry leader, and that is why it's been selected as the first ASR to be integrated into VoiceGuide. Can I purchase your license for only 24 ports originally even though I have 2 spans in the system Yes. You can just leave the other T1 port unused. I can use your evaluation copy for standard t-1 (not pri) for one port only (1st channel?). You can use it for up to 4 channels. I need *ANI*DNIS inband signalling Its pretty easy to set up the Inband signaling match patterns yourself - see http://www.voiceguide.com/vghelp/html/Inba...ndSignaling.htm but we can do this for you as well. How many numbers would be provided as part of ANI and how many as part of DNIS ? I was planning on using Win 2000 professional as the operating system Most preferred platform is the Win2000 Server SP4 Share this post Link to post
