Executing File

Recommended Posts

Is there a native way to run a file (autohotkey or command line for example) each time a message ends up in a mailbox?

You should be able to set the command to be ran for that voicemail box in the Voicemail Manager. See the highlighted setting below:

You can also add a 'Run Program' type module into the callflow just before the callflow takes caller to record a message in that voicemail message.

Please see: https://www.voiceguide.com/vghelp/source/html/modrunprogram.htm

You could also look at using the 'Run Script' module: https://www.voiceguide.com/vghelp/source/html/modvbs.htm

Alternatively, you can also edit the voicemail sub-system callflows in the C:\Program Files (x86)\VoiceGuide\System\vm\ directory - but you need the Enterprise version of VoiceGuide to be able to do that.

The Run Program is interesting but I only want the file run if a message is left in a certain voicemail box.

Where would I find the Run Script module?  I see in Voicemail Manager/Change a "Run" field, but I'm not sure what to put in there.

Thanks.

The 'Run' setting is what is intended to be used for that purpose:

or as advised before, you can edit the voicemail sub-system callflows in the C:\Program Files (x86)\VoiceGuide\System\vm\ to achieve that.

Regarding the "Run Script" module - that module would be placed in your own call flow - like the Run Program module.

I placed in the above Run field "C:\test.bat" but it did not execute when a message was left in that box.

Please post the vgEngine trace capturing the voicemail message being left. We can then see hat has happened on the system and advise.

Please .ZIP up any traces before posting.

How do you recommend privately sharing the log file so I don't have to bother redacting personal data?

On this free Support Forum all posts and attachments are visible to all. You will need or redact any data which you'd do not wish to make publicly visible.

Often by providing just the relevant excerpts of the traces minimizes any personal data included.

Direct Support plans are available, but those are paid support plans usually taken out for larger systems.
