ghjghj Report post Posted 03/23/2003 01:35 PM I just test VoiceGuide v4.8.45 , in the perfermance moniter of win2000 I found VG been called once, need about 1.3M RAM, but in the end of call, it is only released 800K, so if much call in one day, my PC's RAM will be over. Does it is a bug? thanks/jerry Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 03/23/2003 10:57 PM There had been no reported memory leakage problems and we have not seen any ourselves. I'd suggest making a number of calls and see if this happens after every call, or just after the first one (as a number of things get initialized for the first time at the time of the first call I'm not surprised that more memory is allocated for permanent use at the start of first call received by the system) If you are using "Run VBScript" modules then it is possible to allocate objects within your VBSCript and if they are not released properly at the end of the VBScript then memory leaks may occur... Guest Guest_retroblu Report post Posted 04/18/2003 12:10 AM I had done a post a while back but you guys had redone the message board and whatever..... Yes VG is a memory hog at least in ver. 4.7....so im downloading ver. 9 right now and hopefully that solves the issue w/ the memory...our company uses this system a great deal...(its a great system) but overnite we have to close out of VG and open it back up because the mem is gone...we even upgraded to half a gig of mem....VG just eats it, and never spits it out....so we will see how ver.9 does w/ the memory utilization. SupportTeam Report post Posted 04/18/2003 04:14 AM With which version do have this problem? 4.7.0 or some other one? Please let us know how you find v4.9 working for you. Are you using any Run VBScript or Run Program module in your script? Which version of Windows / Service Pack are you using? Do you do any outbound dialing? Could post the script (just .vgs file, not the sound files)? Share this post Link to post
Guest retroblu Report post Posted 04/24/2003 03:41 PM With which version do have this problem? 4.7.0 or some other one? i was having the problem w/ 4.7.2, so i thought upgrading would might solve the issue, i was gonna try 4.9, but it wont take the reginfo so im currently using 4.8.45 and it just as bad, now it only take 2 days for mem to max out instead of one day w/ 4.7....or unless we are receiving low call volume. Are you using any Run VBScript or Run Program module in your script? Nope, the script is pretty simple. Which version of Windows / Service Pack are you using? Win 2k pro/ spk 3 celeron 1.4; 512mb ram Do you do any outbound dialing? Nope, strictly inbound AmeriDebt_11_20.vgs Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 04/24/2003 09:52 PM I saw your script and yes its pretty straightforward, so we are surprised that you are having memory problems on your machine. We have a great number of installations running much more complex scripts then yours at call volumes of 1000+ calls per day for weeks on end with no memory issues - and our testing has not found any memory problems either, so we are keen to get to the bottom of your problem... I can only think that it may be the functions in the Voice modem driver which VoiceGuide calls that may be at fault here... Which voice modem are you using? Can you try a different one? If you are using Dialogic are you using the System Release drivers version 5.01 or later? (in what name/company have you registered VoiceGuide?) Share this post Link to post
Guest retroblu Report post Posted 05/08/2003 08:41 PM Which voice modem are you using? Can you try a different one? I am using an 8port Equinox modem. and i am using Rockwell v.34 pnp drivers for voice cabilities...because the equinox doesnt seem have unimodem(sound) cabalities.-trying a new modem is not an option, cause the equinox were pretty expsensive and they were bought specifically for the IVR system I could try using the regular Rockwell Compatible drivers...v.34 seemed at the time to have better sound quality... (in what name/company have you registered VoiceGuide?) Daniel Hawkins/AmeriDebt i finally got the new key for 4.9.0...will install this weekend and see how that goes...hopefully great..because this software is awesome...i would hate for the mem issue that we are having, make not a great a product as it should be. let me know what you think about try the different drivers idea...and ill let you know next week how the 4.9 did. SupportTeam Report post Posted 05/09/2003 01:23 AM At this stage I'd strongly suspect Equinox drivers themselves - must say I've never heard of that card before and I've only just seen their web page... and based on that it looks like their 8-modems-on-a-card product is intended more for data connectivity rather then voice... especially since the manufacturer does not even provide their own Voice capable drivers... How expensive was the card anyway? If you want 8 analog ports you can buy two Dialogic D4PCI cards for at $500 each... I would strongly recommend ditching that card and using Dialogic for your system. Share this post Link to post
