Guest lorer Report post Posted 05/10/2004 03:42 PM The dialer dials a number. The call is answered, but VG-dialer won't start the script (play the wav) w/o the called one giving a response like a "hello". Is there a way around that, i.e. as soon as the call is answered, start the script w/o waiting for a hello. If not, how do we make sure VG terminates a call when the called person stays silent , so we don't get charged too much for such calls ? Our system is 8 lines of VG5.2.2000 on 2 D/4PCI cards, Win2000Pro desktop. Thanks, == LEVENT == Share this post Link to post

You would need to use Digital lines for that (T1 or E1 lines). On Digital lines you get immediate notification that recipient of call has picked up the handset. If not, how do we make sure VG terminates a call when the called person stays silent If person stays silent the Dialogic card will indicate the call is 'connected' about 10 seconds after it heard the last ringback sound. How soon VG hangs up in situations where recipient of call is not responding depends on script design. Share this post Link to post
