Problems Answering Calls

Hi,

 

have upgraded vg to latest version 5.2.2000 & move from direct lines to Hybrex PABX.

 

VG runs on win2k sp2 pc as a service using firedaemon software

4 port d4/pci dialogic card

pabx is configured to route calls to vg pc when night switch is activated

 

functions as a/h customer order recording service, disconnect tone set to C as this is what the Hybrex pabx specs.

end of call has been set in TSP at 425mhz delay 500, 500, C set in vg.ini, C set in script properties

 

Seems to work ok, but occassionally calls will not be released on 1 line, this seems to cause other calls to be answered intermittently or not all all, after numerous attemps at calling (10) the call is sometimes answered by vg.

 

not sure if problem with script or tsp / pabx config/ dialogic config, system works fine for a random period then develops symptoms described

 

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, I have attached the vg.ini files & script I am using, all seems to be working ok now but this system is for a/h hours customer orders & so must be reliable, previously using 4 direct phone lines & no PABX vg was rock solid, 1 year of operation & no failures. Please help.

hi also noticed not all call recordings are being truncated properly,

 

on some call recordings the tone recorded after the caller has hungup is sometimes recorded longer (4-5 seconds), on other calls the recording ends with a short beep which is the ideal situation.

 

your assistance would be appreciated

I'd say that as VoiceGuide was working rock solid for the last year and you have not changed anything on the PC running VG then the problem most likely lies with the PBX.

 

Can you please provide a trace of a situation that you describe as: "occassionally calls will not be released on 1 line" - are you saying the VG does not hangup the line after call is finised? We should be able to see pretty quickly in the trace just what is going on there...

 

As for the "the call is sometimes answered by vg." - can you see the PBX ringing the extension plugged into the Dialogic card? - you should be able to see this in the trace as well. VG is pretty reliable with answering on the correct ring - so if you are not getting your call answered I'd say it's because the PBX has not routed it to the correct extension....

 

The attached trace shows a successful call and all appears fine...

Please post the recording and the trace which captured the call during which that recording was made.

when next on site I will obtain trace & recording of a call that is not truncated properly, on average 4 out of say 80 calls per night are recorded for approx 5 mins, it seems end of call is not being detected ?, the caller hangs up but vg keeps recording the disconnect/busy tone until it times out, I have set the max record time in voice manager at 4/5 min limit.
