Setup And Test Demo Problem

Recommended Posts

I'm at the very beginning trying to evaluate VoiceGuide for our company. I've got the VoiceGuide installed. The card is a Dialogic D/4PCI. I have successfully set up the Dialogic TAPI services, and they are recognized by the VoiceGuide main window. Also The WaveGuide driver seems to be correctly installed. I'm running W2K Prof on a new machine. I've downloaded and installed the mu-law files that this card wants.

We've got a Executone/Isoetec System 228 with a four port IVR system, hooked to the 4 ports of the Dialogic card. For testing, I've turned off sending DTMF tones when a phone dials into the VoiceGuide application.

I'm trying to run the demo Credit Card application. The phone dials in, waits for a few rings, and is then hung up by Voice Guide. Here is the log:

D/4PCI does not require MuLaw sound files - it uses PCM 11025Hz 8bit Mono.

You'll need to download the correct format and update your sound files.

(Please see http://www.katalinatech.com/suppRecomHardware.htm )

That’s why you are getting the WAVERR_BADFORMAT error message...

Are you using the latest version of VoiceGuide?

Are you using Dialogic's System Release drivers v5.01 or later?

I downloaded and installed the .wav files you suggest. However, they seem to yield the same error indication as before. The event log is at the end of this post. I examined the files closely to make sure that I had downloaded the correct ones from your site. They are in fact 11K, 8bit Mono files, from your site.

VoiceGuide version is 4.8.45

The Dialogic Config Manager reports the following:

OS: W2K SP3

Dialogic Release SR5.1 Ver.DNA5 Build26

Windows Device Manager reports that no drivers have been installed for this device, but all Dialogic functions appear to work. Service Starts and Stops. 4 Ports appear in the VoiceGuide status area, "Waiting For Call". Etc. I have not run the entire Universal Dialogic Diagnostics.

Here's the Event Log:

Please post the "PayGetId.wav" file that is giving you problems.

Can you try playing any of the sound files from VoiceGuide's system/voicedlgc directory?

Tried playing the files in the system/voicedlgc directory. They all play fine (in Windows Media Player).

I received this error when attempting to attach "PayGetId.wav".

THE FOLLOWING ERROR(S) WERE FOUND

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You cannot upload this type of file

However, the file plays fine in Windows Media Player.

Thanks for whatever help you can give.

Please send the file to support@katalinatech.com

Can you try playing any of the sound files from VoiceGuide's system/voicedlgc directory in VoiceGuide - just edit the script to use those files instead of "PayGetId.wav"

Hello

I am facing exactly the same problem as Jeff. Tried/checked all the suggestiions u have provided here.

Still my problem persists

15515 6 [Get Client ID] Number Input

15515 6 [Get Client ID] Playing (PayGetId.wav)

15515 6 Play Start line[6] err=[0 wavec waveOutOpen(0x0, 0x0, 0x2a45240, 0x0, 0x0, 0x5) => 32 (WAVERR_BADFORMAT) - format query with wave mapped] file[PayGetId.wav]

I have attached PayGetId.wav for ur ref. It is in PCM 11.025 kHz, 8 Bit, Mono format, but as u can see it is not accepted by ur software.

Sounds like the cards Wave drivers were not correctly installed - can you

try removing all the wave drives on your system (including any sound card drivers) and then re-installing the wave drivers for your telephony device first. Try calling in after doing this, and if the sound can be heard over the phone you can then try to re-install your sound card drivers.

To remove other wave drivers got to Control Panel, double clock on System, select the Device Manager tab and go to Sound/Video/Game Controllers entry - then delete all other wave drivers.
