Guest MannyTC Report post Posted 05/28/2004 04:18 PM Can you tell me if this is possible? We are trying to come up with a way to be able to create a mailbox for a customer to call into to receive a recorded message sent to that mailbox by one of our staff. Ideally, we would need the ability to create that mailbox remotely for a customer that doesn't already have one and be able to record a message to be stored in that mailbox remotely as well. The customer would have to call in and specify their mailbox# and account# for verification and it would then play their message. Are there alternative methods to do this sort of thing without mailboxes? Any ideas you may have would be appreciated. Manny Sabtel Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 05/28/2004 08:21 PM Yes, this is possible. There are a number of ways of doing this. If you want to give client a proper voicemail box part of VoiceGuide's voicemail system you will need to edit the "VmBoxList.xml" file in VG's \data\ subdirectory, and then create a sound file in VG's \data\VmSave\ subdirectory which has your message. See the other voicemail files in that directory to see what the name of the file should be... If you just want to play a message after user enters a mailbox# and account# then you can use a database to retrieve the filename to play next, or just have a sound file named with mailbox# and account# as part of the name so that you can specify the name directly in the Play module using Result Variables...
