Pro Voice Modem W/fax & Callerid

I see we already have a voice modem thread, and I know most folks recommend the Dialogic hardware. But I want to get my feet wet first without a PBX and the D/4. So I am looking to pick up a good quality voice modem with callerID and fax detection functionality that can pass that call information to VG. It should have good voice support as well, meaning the audio from VG should be clear and easy to understand over the phone.

 

Any suggestions?

 

In the future, I plan to put a PBX in front of a D/4 card and implement a total VG solution, but for right now I'm really looking for a cheaper route that still gives me fax handling and callerID functionality.

Nobody is posting the supported features of those modems, ie. fax/CID/etc and how they work. I've read that post a dozen times and still have no idea of the optimum hardware to purchase.
