cramermark Report post Posted 06/25/2004 04:44 AM I am running VG 5.2.2 with a D4PCI Card. The files that came with the software sound great. I have now had professional wav files created for our script and they all sounded terrific except the number (0.wav, 1.wav, etc.). The numbers had too much of a buffer so the application was playing back an entered phone number veeerrrryyyy slowly. I asked the voice talent to shorten the buffer between the numbers to play back faster. The numbers now play back much faster, but I hear a static click noise, similar to a push-to-talk microphone on a CB or military radio, between each digit. The files are 11 Khz, 8, Mono. I've converted to 16 and back to 8, etc. but nothing seems to help. I have attached the wav files. Thanks-- Mark Numbers.zip Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 06/25/2004 05:11 AM The sound files were saved in a format which has some extra data at the front of each file (looks like the file's description in plain English text). Looks like the sound player in Windows is aware of these extensions and skips them when playing the sound file, but VoiceGuide just tries to play that description as if it were part of the sound file - and that is why you hear this chirping sound at the beginning of these files. Arrange to have the sound files saved as normal .wav files with no descriptions of the file included in the .WAV header (like the other files which she recorded for you before) and then the files will be OK for use with VG. We will look into making VG aware of these header extensions so that this does not occur in the future versions of VG. Share this post Link to post
