How Do I Try Call Bridging With Two Modems?

I see where it is not recommended to try call bridging using TAPI modems but I would like to try it and see if it works at all.

 

I don't want 3-way calling using flash hook; I would like to call in on line 1, enter a phone number (and password I guess) and then dial out on line 2 that number - linking the call on line 1 to the new call on line 2.

 

Any help would be appreciated

This can't be done with modems, they are not able to support such functionality.

Is it possible to put both modems in speakerphone mode and connect them externaly via spkr and Mic connections? so the audio is passed through from one to the other?

 

I know with the modems that I use, depending on the software, they ussually allow audio in and out of these ports even if the software was not designed to support speakerphone support.

 

But I moved away from those to a Dialogic card, so i can;t test to see if it works that way with VG. But why don't you try it, hook up a speaker to the port and listen..... Then set your script to create a text file to be called diallistnew.txt save it in the right directory, set line 2 in the settings to " allow VG to dial out on this line " and then when your script gets to the point and makes that file, it will force the outbound call to go on the free modem, and possibly the speakerphone capability works, allowing both lines to be connected. With the right scripting that would work pretty good.

 

Perhaps a VB script to be run by VG will force the modem into Speakerphone mode? I don't know any VB scripting rutines, but this may be possible?

 

Maybey Katalina can tell us if its possible to use the Script module to make a VB script to send commands to the modem to force it into speaker phone mode. I see no reason why not, and I see no reason why the crossed connection of the Mic & speaker outputs on the back of the modem will not work.

 

It worked for this PC -Phone gateway software that i used, but it was used for a sound card to modem connection to allow people to access it over the net to allow outbound calls, hence your own PC -> phone gateway. The audio was bad, but I beleive the software was the big issue in that case.

VoiceGuide is not designed to use the modems in SpeakerPhone mode, and at this stage it is not possible to issue AT commands directly to modem using VB Script... sorry...
