Guest Ron Derk Report post Posted 09/15/2004 02:28 PM I am using 4.8.45 I want to upgrade to latest and greatest. My old unique ID is based on my hard drive. Will the unique ID be the same for the new version if NOTHING in the system has changed? I only ask because a minimal delay is imperative when upgrading. Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 09/15/2004 09:02 PM ID will be more likely based on Network Card with the newer version of VG... you just got to try it and see... Share this post Link to post
Guest Ron Derk Report post Posted 09/16/2004 01:52 PM I am sorry; I guess I didn't make my self clear. There is NO "try it and see". I can not be down except for the brief time I need to upgrade program and enter new, already at hand serial number. I guess what I am asking is, if there is only the original hard drive and a voice modem (no other cards) will the unique number for the new version of voice guide be the same as old unique number? Guest Guest Report post Posted 09/16/2004 01:56 PM If it is the same unique number, I can order the upgrade before I attempt to install it. And later I can install the new network card, and not be down but briefly. Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 09/16/2004 09:58 PM Issuing a new registration code for v5.2 based on the same hard disk ID as reported by v4.8 should work... To unregister VoiceGuide please rename the file USERINFO.INI in VoiceGuide's directory, then restart VoiceGuide and see what that Unique ID is. Share this post Link to post
