How To Get Better Sound Quality?

Hi there,

 

We have some audio files for VG system; those files are good before transfer to PCM, 11Khz, 8bit, and mono format. But after transferring, the sound quality is poor (I'm referring to the format exactly match the requirements of VG). So the question is:

 

What did we do wrong or what we need to do it right to get the good quality sound for the VG system?

What program did you use to convert the files to 11kHz from the previous format?

 

To get good quality sound files ask the studio recording the sound files for you to supply them in 11kHz as well.

Does that means that we have to ask the studio people record the sound files with the format setting is the same with PCM, 11KHz, 8 bit, mono?

 

The more details of the question is:

 

We played the same sound file (PCM, 11Khz, 8 bit, mono) through speakers attached to pc; the quality is way better than we played through telephone. We even couldn't hear the sound except the noise, how could that happen?

You could not hear the sound? What was the type noise that you heard instead?

The attached file is in Stereo format, not Mono - can you try recording/converting the file to Mono?
