Guest procomm Report post Posted 04/26/2003 03:13 PM I had recently updated to 4.9 and discovered that if I change the "record length max" settings that it does not update the VG.ini file. In fact I am having problems with the recording of a voicemail left to exceed either what is set in the "record length max" in the software as well as the VG.ini file. Please advise. Brent p.s. I went back to my 4.8.54 and this does not seem to be a problem here Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 04/29/2003 12:33 AM There was a bug in the v4.9.0 of the Voicemail manager - it was not saving all settings in the same VG.INI file from which VoiceGuide would then read from. The attached new Voicemail manager fixes this. VgVmMgr_4.9.0_INI_fix.zip Share this post Link to post
Guest procomm Report post Posted 04/29/2003 03:32 PM Okay, You have "married" them back together. However, it doesn't seem to actually have any consequence. In other words, no matter what I set it at, it doesn't limit the length of the recorded message. Please advise. Brent Share this post Link to post
Guest procomm Report post Posted 05/08/2003 07:07 PM I am still trying to get this resolved. My Voice Guide just recorded over a 1000 minute voice message when the max message length is supposed to cut it off after 90 seconds. Please advise. Thanks, Brent Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 05/09/2003 01:13 AM We've just tried it and max time limit worked fine for us, We've created a version of vgmulti.exe which logs the Max Rec Time setting when it starts recording - and here is the log it generates on our system: 33406 7 [0001] Playing Welcome Message 33453 7 PlaySoundStart ok [C:\Projects\vg32\system\voicedlgc\VmbWelcomeMsgDefault.wav] 33468 7 [0001] Play welcome message 36375 7 Play End line[7] (id=933421) 36390 7 LsVmLm_PlayWelc EV_PLAY_FINISHED 36421 7 PlaySoundStart ok [C:\Projects\vg32\system\voicedlgc\beep1.wav] 36656 7 wb(93640600) 36718 7 Play End line[7] (id=936406) 36734 7 LsVmLm_PlayWelc_Beep EV_PLAY_FINISHED 36781 7 RecSoundStart file[C:\Projects\vg32\data\VmSave\0001_0509105912_1_7_.wav] ok 36796 7 Voicemail_MaxRecLength=15. 36828 7 [0001] Recording Message 53156 7 LsVmLm_Rec EV_TIMEOUT_RECMAXTIME 53218 7 RecSoundStop ok 53234 7 LsVmLm_Rec EV_REC_FINISHED 53296 7 PlaySoundStart ok [C:\Projects\vg32\system\voicedlgc\MaxRecTime.wav] The max rec time was set to 15 seconds using the Voicemail manager - which changes the [Voicemail] RecLengthMax= section of VG.INI file As you can see in trace VG stopped recording after 15 seconds. I'm attraching the .exe with the extra debug, please run it on your system and post the trace if you still see this problem happening... VgMulti_4.9.0_log_maxreclen.zip Share this post Link to post
Guest procomm Report post Posted 05/11/2003 10:21 PM ok, here is an example of a script where I have "max rec length" at 61 seconds. After 2 minute long message ( and continuing to record ) I manually hung up the connection. Included is the script . Please advise. thanks, Brent maxRecLength.txt Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 05/11/2003 11:52 PM In the trace file we see that your PBX is sending the DTMF tone "D" to indicate end of call - and looks like v4.9.0 did have a problem with correctly interpreting that tone - please update your VGMULTI.EXE with the one attached which fixes this bug. Guest procomm Report post Posted 05/12/2003 12:28 AM Good Job. 'D' disconnects the call like "clockwork" now. You guys are good. Thanks much. No more 10 minute voice messages. I appreciate it. Brent Share this post Link to post
