sanjay Report post Posted 10/04/2004 07:03 PM We bought the Voice Guide 5.2 Professional Version. Voice Guide recommended compatible hardware as Dialogic D/4PCI , so we bought it. The quality of sound when played on Voice Guide software is unacceptable. There is background noise, a hissing which is annoying to the listener. We have: a studio quality .wav file using industry mic and sound room. - specs are: PCM 44 khz, 16 bit, stereo. we converted to: PCM 11 khz, 8 bit, mono. we used Goldwave to remove all background noise. There is no hissing. There is no background noise in our new source .wav file. when we use this new source file in the Voice Guide software to call a telephone number, we have an unacceptable background noise when the message is played (no hissing when there is silence between sentences.) Before using Voice Guide software the .wav file sounds great but when using Voice Guide software the sound is terrible. We are aware that we bought the least expensive hardware for an analog phone line. This does not mean that we should be satisfied with a final product that is not professional sounding from Voice Guide. What do we do to reduce/ eliminate the background noise Voice Guide software picks up? Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 10/04/2004 08:42 PM How to the sound files which come with VoiceGuide sound like? (Best to test using the Credit Card Payment demo program) Have you tried using Dialogic's own sample programs, (Voice horoscope, Talker32 etc)? What do the sound files played by those programs sound like? Can we dial into this system to hear what it sounds like? (please provide phone number if we can). Also, can you please .ZIP up and post one of your created sound files. PS. Please post only one copy of your question. Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 10/06/2004 08:01 PM We recived a response by email to questions above. The Voice Horoscope demo program sounds the same, there is a distortion. If we play our sound file using itunes, windows media player, or any other media application it sounds 100% crisp. It's ONLY when we put it live using VoiceGuide, that is when the sound becomes distorted. When "Voice Horoscope" sounds bad then it's either the card or the line that has something wrong with it. If you don't think it's the line then you should contact the Dialogic dealer and get the card replaced under warranty. Share this post Link to post
