Guest rico Report post Posted 04/29/2003 10:49 AM I tried to use the email forwarding feature of VG 4.9 and install the patch VGMGR but still have this error below. The error is the same whether you select the simple mapi or smtp server. From the VmailManager, I configure one mailbox to forward the message to an email. Note from this PC I can send/receive mail using outlook express. The smtp server was tested with an ip address or host name but still same problem. 80237 5 RVreplace start: [Voicemail received from $RV_CIDNAME, $RV_CIDNUMBER at $RV_HOUR:$RV_MINUTE $RV_DATE/$RV_MONTH] 80297 5 RVreplace end: [Voicemail received from , at 18:31 29/4] 80307 5 Queue Voicemail=>Email forward: rico@yahoo.com 80317 5 HangupCall called from [srvm] 80327 5 Hanging up call... 80327 5 PlaySoundStop ok 80357 5 fnHangupCall end 80397 5 tapie linedevstate 2048 0 0 80407 5 tapie callstate IDLE 66034 0 0 80407 5 WorkingMode@Idle= 80417 5 set EV_TIMEOUT_TIMETOREINITLINE 2 80427 5 tapi Reply 65948 0 81399 5 LsAwaitingCalls EV_TIMEOUT_TIMETOREINITLINE 81399 5 ReinitTelephony due to IDLE start 81409 5 tapic lineDeallocateCall(MainCall:66034) 0 81649 5 lineOpen(5) => 0 81649 5 Waiting for a call... 81659 5 lineOpen(5)LineHandle=65931 85375 0 SendEmailMapi 2 85385 0 SendEmailMapi msm about to call 85395 0 SendEmailMapi msm returned 85395 5 Send Email Error: -2147467259 [unknown Error] Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 04/29/2003 12:02 PM To use the MAPI method you need to have Outlook or Exchange running at the same time (Outlook Express will not work - you need Outlook itself). Can you post a trace of what happens on your system when you try to send email using SMTP? Share this post Link to post
Guest rico Report post Posted 04/30/2003 02:39 AM Okay I understand I need a full outlook product. For the use of SMTP server option, I got the problem were. You need to specify the port number, i.e. 192.168.0.1:25 Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 04/30/2003 03:04 AM I'm not sure if current version supports specifying a special port number - I think it will work only with a default port number (do you have any problems when using the default SMTP port number?) I'll request that v4.9.1 supports the specifying of an alternative SMTP port using the ":" notation as per your example. Share this post Link to post
Guest rico Report post Posted 04/30/2003 09:25 AM It works also without specifying the port number but I need to restart VG. I also notice that when the smtp connection is not successful, VG does not retry the connection to forward the email again. Sometimes when smtp fails it says "host not found" but the connectivity is okay. If I issue continous ping to the smtp server, the smtp connection is 100% successful so far in my testing for around 10 messages. I suggest that in the next version you include in the smtp parameters that are configurable the port number, retry count and timeout. Share this post Link to post
Guest rico Report post Posted 04/30/2003 09:41 AM In addition, the vmemailforwardbody template is being truncated even though you edit this text file template. It limits the text to 64 bytes Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 04/30/2003 01:10 PM In 4.9.1 the email sender is completely re-written. I think that pretty much all the issues you raise have been raised over here and will be addressed in that new version. Share this post Link to post
