SangAstra Report post Posted 10/30/2004 07:19 AM I am using VG 3 way announced conference call and its working perfectly but the user has to press "1" specifically to accept a call. This poses a problem for mobile users who have their keypads locked as they have to unlock and receive the call. Is there any solution on this problem ? Will this problem get solved if we introduce our own .wav file ? Kindly advise the earliest. Thanks. Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 10/30/2004 11:47 PM On analog lines it is pretty hard to determine when the 3rd party in the '3-way transfer' has answered the call - that is why using the 'press 1 to accept' approach is best. It also gives the recipient an option to decline the call is they do not want to take it. Using your own .wav files for the announcement messages does not change how the overall transfer works - just the message that is played. Share this post Link to post
SangAstra Report post Posted 11/01/2004 11:22 AM Thanks for your prompt reply however that does not solve our problem: 1. I suppose all mobiles are based on digital lines (not analogue). 2. Over 90% of mobile phones have keypads locked when they receive the incoming call and they all fumble trying to press '1' to accept the inbcoming call. kind regards Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 11/01/2004 11:31 AM 1. I suppose all mobiles are based on digital lines (not analogue). The Dialogic card in your IVR system - is it using Analog lines or Digital ISDN lines? 2. Over 90% of mobile phones have keypads locked when they receive the incoming call and they all fumble trying to press '1' to accept the inbcoming call. At this stage it is not possible to tell when exactly a call has been answered when doing a '3 way conference' call - that's why the 'press 1' approach is used. I'd recommend getting a E1 or T1 ISDN line - then the IVR system will be able to tell when the second call has been answered. You will however then need to use the "Dial and Conference" option with Digital lines - they do not support a '3 way conference on the same phone line' feature. Share this post Link to post
