Guest Matt Report post Posted 11/01/2004 01:27 AM I am trying to use VG as an answering system. I have set up a simple script that answers the call, and plays a message then hangs up. When I try it, the call is answered, but as soon as it goes to play the announcement, the computer reboots. I am able to use other applications (i.e. FaxTalk). I only have one modem, it is a Motorola SM56 PCI. I have tried it in two computers with the same result. Both computers have AMD CPUs (one is 850MHz one is 1550MHz). I assume the problem is with the modem. Is this correct? Or is there an issue with AMD CPUs? Thank you. Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 11/01/2004 01:59 AM The problem is most likely with the modem driver - only the modem driver would run at a privilege level high enough to be able to cause a blue screen or reboot. Guest Matt Report post Posted 11/01/2004 02:28 AM I have tried both windows XP and Windows 2000 (Both Pro). The problem occurse on both identically. As for the problem being with the modem driver - Do you have a recomendation for this? Thank you Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 11/01/2004 02:35 AM I'd try asking the modem manufacturer if they have any newer drivers available, and if they do not then I'd try using a different modem... Share this post Link to post
