Guest rtp Report post Posted 12/20/2004 07:01 PM Hi, Most of the IVR application out there can stop playing the instruction (announcement) as soon as user starts to enter info (pressing the phone keypad). I am testing the credit card payment sample script and notice that when I don't want to hear the whole instruction and start to enter info, the wav file keeps on playing and at the end, some of my pressed key does not get into the system (for example, if i type 1250#, it will only recognize 120, and so on). If I wait until the announcement is played to the end and start entering the number, the voiceguide is able to pick up the whole thing accurately. Is there a setting somewhere to achieve what I want (voiceguide stops playing the announcement so it can detect the key pressed accurately)? Thanks! Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 12/20/2004 09:35 PM Some voice modems do not stop playing of sound files when asked - they will just play the entire file. I assume that you are using a voice modem? Some voice modems do not detect DTMF tones well either. The solution is to try another modem or better yet just get a Dialogic card. Share this post Link to post
Guest rtp Report post Posted 12/20/2004 10:37 PM Thanks for the quick reply. Yes I am using a voice modem for experiments purpose. Are you saying that if I use dialogic card, the script will stop playing wav file as user enters info automatically (without any change in setting)? Thanks in advance. Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 12/21/2004 03:42 AM Are you saying that if I use dialogic card, the script will stop playing wav file as user enters info automatically (without any change in setting)? Yes. many modems will as well - just the one you are using right now does not. It's better to just get a Dialogic card - there are just too many things that tend to go wrong with voice modem based systems. Share this post Link to post
Guest rtp Report post Posted 12/21/2004 10:35 PM I see. I am using Creative Modem Blaster DE5671 (USB modem). Is there a voice modem that you can recommend where this wav stop is supported and as a good overall voice modem? I am planning to get dialogic card eventually, but not now, since the price is so expensive and I am still in experimental phase. Thanks. Share this post Link to post
