Guest Archie Robb Report post Posted 05/12/2003 08:23 PM Hi there. I am trying to download the evaluation version of VoiceGuide, with a view to purchasing the full version. However, due to restrictions imposed by my network administrator, I am unable to download .exe files. Would it be possible for someone to email me the file? I know it is a large file, but if anyone has a broadband connection, and has a few minutes to spare, I would really appreciate it. My email address is: a(dot)robb(at)etoncollege(dot)org(dot)uk Please replace the (dot)s with "." and the (at) with "@" - sorry about this, but it is to stop the spam bots which trawl the web harvesting email addresses. Thankyou very much for your help. Archie Share this post Link to post
Guest Archie Report post Posted 05/12/2003 08:38 PM Since I am asking one question, I may as well ask two. This one is a bit more complicated, and so I hope you can understand what I am trying to say. If I have a spreadsheet, which updates automatically every minute from the web, is it possible to give out the information contained in the spreadsheet over the phone via voiceguide? For example, if the spreadsheet refreshes every minute with, for example, stock infomation from a warehouse, is it possible that a caller could, after pressing the right options, hear a message like: "There are currantly 192 DVD players and 206 VCR players in the warehouse"? Sorry, probably a slightly strange request, but what I am wondering is whether it is possible to tie in a spreadsheet with the phone system, so that up-to-the-minute data on the spreadsheet can be given out on demand to callers. Is it possible with this software to do this? Thankyou very much for your help. Archie Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 05/13/2003 05:14 AM If you have trouble downloading large files, we suggest you use a free download assistant like: GetRight : http://www.getright.com/ GoZilla! : http://www.gozilla.com/ or: BulletProof FTP : http://www.bpftp.com/ Reading from a spreadsheet is also very easy. See Help file section on the "Run VB Script" module. It has an example there which shows how to open an Excel spreadsheet and read/write data from/into it. Then speak the read out data to the caller using the "Say Number" module. You can do all this using the evaluation version of VoiceGuide (which has all the features enabled) and after getting it working you will need the "Professional" version of the license.
