Guest Guest Report post Posted 03/15/2005 09:34 PM Hi, We are at the final stage of purchasing VoiceGuide for our IVR needs. However, we encountered some problems during our evaluation period. Below are what we encountered: 1. VG Scripts did not load properly when the "Load Script" icon is clicked. - Sometimes I need to click it 10 times to get the script loaded - I notice that if I reload a script, changes made prior loading was not loaded. The old script was running. Memory problem? - In order for changes to take effects, I have to rename it to another file name and loads it. 2. After a flow is setup. It runs flawlessly with the same sets of input but once in a while, it will prompt me MS VB RuntimeError. ..Input was the same but error occurs and hangs up. This doesn't look too good when it happened during our demo to the upper management level. It works again after the script is reloaded. 3. We tried the email module. The status of the email is OK, but no email was sent and no email received( no email after 1 month either, so no queue mail problem there ). SMTP setup was verified. What is the possible problem with this situation? Why the password field in the smtp setup is not masked? Any known bugs that in the current version that we should know of? Thanks. When a new version of the script is saved that version will be used for new calls. existing calls will still use the version which was current at the start of the call. but once in a while, it will prompt me MS VB RuntimeError Could you please post a copy of VoiceGuide's Debug Printout which captures the problem, this will allow us to see what is going on. When running the script click on VoiceGuide's View menu and select 'Event Trace Log' option - any log information will then appear in this window. You must open the trace window before making the call. You can enable the automatic saving of the logs to files in \log\ directory as well. Well, this is not the case. After the script is saved. The flow in the system is still the flow from the previous script. I tried this by having an entire script change and saved having the same filename and the script loaded is the old script. Exiting and Reopening voiceguide won't make anything change at least 80-90% of the time. Which "Load Script" icon are you referring to? The Blue/White button which says "Set and Run Current Script" in the script editor. This button won't do anything if VoiceGuide is running. If I terminate voiceguide and click on this button (sometimes more than once), the script loaded was not the current script shown but the script from the last session (most of the time-- 80%-90% of the time). Could you please post a copy of VoiceGuide's Debug Printout which captures the problem, this will allow us to see what is going on. Good. We have not come across any problems with the "Set and Run Current Script" button ourselves (and we use it all the time) an did not have any other reports of problems with it from other customers. You can use the "View"->"Line Device Config" menu in VoiceGuide to confirm which script is currently loaded on the line. From the trace it looks like your VBScript in the module [Populate KeyPad Variables] did not run properly. We can see that the VBScript was started OK by VoiceGuide, but What exactly did the error say? The error message will usually give you the line number of the VBScript on which the error occurred so you can see in your script where the error is. You can also look at the file mentioned in the trace (in this case C:\Program Files\VoiceGuide\data\vbs_0_1.vbs) - and indeed you can just run this file again to reproduce the error. If you still can't resolve it then next time this occurs please post the screenshot of the error and the vbs file in the \data\ directory which is mentioned in the VG trace at the time. ktruk Report post Posted 03/17/2005 09:40 AM I have similar problems occaisionally with loading scripts via Designer. However, I have noticed that during development, when the scripts may have some errors (not exactly sure which ones, but paths to missing modules maybe) then the script does not load properley. Sometimes, a new script will load, but fail on first play - it will play a module, then hangup. When the module is tidied up and "clean" it loads/runs without problems. I am using winXP-pro and latest version of VG on dialogic 5.1.1. I suggest this maybe a symptom of "newbie" developers (like me) and not a problem for the VG-pros like the support crew! Hi, I think I know what problem was causing that. It says "Path Not Found" When I try to open a file for writing. I have the path as "TTS/xxxxx.txt" in the VBS. If I run the script independently, it gives me the same error. Somehow I am assuming it's looking for the directory name "TTS" in the "Data" folder itself where the VBS is saved. Do you know why it's causing that? I will try have the full path in there using the $RV. Hope that might solve it. Share this post Link to post
