Simple Transfer To An External Line

Hi,

 

I am using VG 4.9.0, on Win2K, with D4PCI with a PBX board.

 

Actual Script(very simple) : on 0, transfer the line to an external line.

 

Success : When I call from an intercom and press 0, it DOES transfer the line and connects the two party.

 

Fail : When I call from any external phone, the call lands up on an extension where voice guide picks up the phone and on press 0, it tries to transfer.

 

Now, there few different situations which happen -

-it puts the caller on hold and rings the external line and does nothing.

-it rings back the caller line, rings the external line and does nothing.

-it rings back the caller line, rings the external line put this line on hold.

-does nothing.

 

I have attached a zip file which contains :

-D4PCI settings in a text file.

-Success from intercom TRACE.

-Fail from external line TRACE.

-vg.ini

 

I am actually in deep shit. I need to make it work. someone please please help......

As you can see from the traces VoiceGuide will do perform exactly the same actions in the transfer module regardless of whether the call came from an internal extension (intercom) or from the external line (trace excerpts below).

 

What is happening here I think is that your PBX will not do a transfer of an external incoming call to an another external number - as you are trying to do. This is a limitation of almost all PBXs.

 

What PBX are you using?

My PBX does the conference, if i do it with handset. I am very well able transfer the same call from voice guide to an extension on a phone set, picking up the phone there, Flash, 0,number and when connected, Flash, 3 and all these 3 lins get connected.

 

but the same thing is not happening with voice guide. even i try to put blind conference to any external line vg does the same things.

 

all features when tested using a phone handset, gets connected. but vg..!!

From your previous post I though you wanted to do a call transfer, not a call conference...

 

If you want to do a Conference then please select the "Blind Conference" or "Announced Conference" option in the transfer module.

 

If your PBX allows you to use "!3" to complete the conference before the 3rd party picks up the phone then you can use the "Blind Conference" option, otherwise you should use the "Announced Conference" option.
