Adam Report post Posted 03/22/2005 10:47 PM Hi there, Is there a way to compress the .wav files that are recorded with VG VoiceMail before they get emailed to my email account? Thanks, Adam Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 03/23/2005 12:05 AM No. There is nothing built into VoiceGuide to automatically compress the sound files before emailing. The recordings are already quite small. Bitrate of recordings is between 16KBytes/sec and 8KBytes/sec (depending on version of VG and device used). I understand that compressed formats which still retain good sound quality are around 4kBytes/sec (?). Size of sound files would still affect users who need to download email over a modem, but dial-up connections are less and less common these days and there does no seem to be much pressure now for compressing the sound files before emailing...
