3-way Blind Conference Fails W/cell Phs

I am using VG with dialogic d/41-JCTLS, no pbx. My transfer module is designed to give people a chance to zero out to talk to my staff. W/o a pbx, the best way I have found is to set up 3-way blind conference call and use the local telco's 3-way call feature which uses hookflash to dial 2nd party and then hookflash to complete the conference.

 

This generally works although it ties up two POTS lines for the duration of the conference call which is not ideal.

 

For some reason, this process works very reliably with landline callers but fails the majority of the time with cell phone callers. Can you help me figure out the problem with cell phones?

 

The cell phone conference callers never seem to get completely through. Our staff and the caller hear silence and eventually just hang up. I theorize that the problem is that the 2nd hookflash is either timed incorrectly or doesn't happen at all.

 

It's an inconsistent thing, so I will post an event trace log for a "failed" conference call and a "success" conference call, both placed from a cell phone. I will also attach a screen shot of the pbx settings so you can see how I have the hookflash set up.

the best way I have found is to set up 3-way blind conference call and use the local telco's 3-way call feature which uses hookflash to dial 2nd party and then hookflash to complete the conference.

 

This generally works although it ties up two POTS lines for the duration of the conference call which is not ideal.

The 3-way conference does not tie up 2 lines - only 1.

 

The "Dial and Conference" option which results in the system dialing out on another line and then connecting two lines together ties up 2 lines.

 

For some reason, this process works very reliably with landline callers but fails the majority of the time with cell phone callers.

Sounds like a problem with your phone company's Switch not being able to establish 3 way conferences with mobiles...

 

Quickest solution is to just use the "Dial and Conference" option.
