Guest Timmus Report post Posted 05/07/2005 05:49 PM This is a NON-Dialogic issue. I have a cheapo $20 dlink modem bought at Office Depot. This morning I discovered that VoiceGuide was playing through my computer speaker. I picked up on the line and didn't hear anything taking place on the phone line. ATTEMPTS: Uninstalling and reinstalling the voicemodem didn't fix the problem. Neither did removing the modem's WAV driver (Unimodem Half-Duplex Audio Device). SOLUTION: I found that I had to remove the soundcard from Device Manger > Sound Video Game Controllers. I basically just right-clicked on my sound card (Creative Audio PCI ES1370 SB PCI 64/128 WDM) and uninstalled. Then I rebooted. Windows saw it and reinstalled. I found this fixed the VoiceGuide problem. PROBABLE CAUSE: I installed DirectX 9 from Microsoft, which I think is the most likely culprit for messing with my audio drivers. This is on a very clean Win2000 system that was built just a week ago. Tim Share this post Link to post
