Converting Sound Files

Hi,

 

We have been recording some new sound files for our Voiceguide system. The original 22khz 16bit mono recordings sound good but when we convert using Windows Sound Recorder to 8khz 8bit we seem to get clipping of the "S" and other sounds.

 

Can you suggest how we can avoid or improve this. Examples of files attached.

Use a tool like Adobe Audition to do the conversion.

Windows Sound Recorder does not convert sound files very well.
