Guest Guest Report post Posted 05/18/2005 04:16 AM When i use Dialogic D41ESC and VoiceGuide together to make phone calls, i found out that it is hard to precisely detect other phones off-hook signal. Sometimes it works fine, and most times it does not. VoiceGuide shows that it is off-hook status, but acturally it is not. It is more accurate that detection is right when making calls to landline phones compare to cellphones. I am thinking is there anything related to PTSN. Or any difference between landline network with mobile phone network. Thanks for ur help ! darren Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 05/18/2005 05:32 AM On outgoing analog calls off-hook detection is made by listening for someone to say "Hello.." etc. or an answering machine message - much like a human can detect that a call has been answered when someone or starts speaking on the phone line. If you want to detect when the handset is picked up you need to use T1 or E1 ISDN lines - you would then know exactly when the handset was picked up without relying on listening for the "hello..." etc. message. Guest Guest Report post Posted 05/18/2005 08:12 PM Thank you for such quick response. I am thinking can I detect the off-hook status by detect the analog signal of the telephone line. Such like to detect ringback signal or other signals. Thanks ! Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 05/18/2005 10:38 PM The Dialogic card uses the Ringback tones as well to determine if call has been answered or not. You must of course set the ringback tones properly to match those played on your system. Share this post Link to post
