Guest kr1sp0s Report post Posted 05/26/2005 05:08 PM We are attempting to use voiceguide to outdial and deliver messages to our clients. The scripts themselves work beautifully! In testing different possible call answer scebarios, I am dialing the sam number on all four of our Dialogic D$/PCI's lines. Theorestically, 1 should connect and the other 3 should be busy. I am finding that all lines are reporting that they are connected, therefore all are playing the script and updateing my database as though the calls had actually been placed. Further testing on a different phone number yeilds the same results. In addition, the phone number that i originally mentioned, has a fax machine that will actually pick up the call after 2 rings, which seems to be being detected as an answering machine. And now the questions: It seems like these issues are more telephony card related that vocieguide related. Are there special settings for the dialogic card that would make it more accurately detect the call status? Is there a dialogic card othere than the D/$ pci that i should be using that would yeild better results? Also make sure that your busy and disconnect tones are set properly in LinesConfig.xml file. Use Audacity http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ to find out the frequencies and cadence. I also downloaded the audacity program but am having difficulty getting it to talk to the dialogic card. From your experience, are the particular setting i should be using??? I am assuming that i should have the dialogic board selected in the recording options. I also have tried the project sample rate at both 8k and 11.25l. Iam getting an "ERROR WHILE OPENING SOUND DEVICE" so i must have a setting wrong somewhere. Share this post Link to post

I did record the call and found out that even though the line was busy, the telco had a voice annoucement on the line telling me that the line was busy and asked if i would like to leave a message for $.35. Well no wonder my scripts started playing as if answered by a human! it is possible that i will run into this situation at least occasionally in not more frequently that. I s there any way around this situation? I need to be able to leave a message on voicemail if a call goes to a voicemail box but i also need to be able to detect a busy so that i know a message was not delived. Thanks!! SupportTeam Report post Posted 06/06/2005 10:35 PM Looks like the quality of the recording is pretty high if the Dialogic card thinks that the call has been answered by a human... It would not be really possible to automatically recognize the meaning of the spoken message and act as per instructions - you would need a Speech Recognition system with some natural intelligence built-in to recognize this. Maybe if you were using a T1/E1 ISDN line then the ISDN messages sent on the line could be used to better determine what is happening with the call... Share this post Link to post

SupportTeam Report post Posted 06/07/2005 09:55 PM CR_NORB is a Dialogic event indicating that as the card is no longer hearing the Ringback tone then it will assume the call has been answered. Any SIT tones usually get played long before the Dialogic card times out awaiting for ringback. I'd suggest you also update your system with the latest VG for Dialogic patch available in this thread: http://voiceguide.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=2850 If using T1/E1 ISDN then the signal that call was answered would arrive as an ISDN message - no need to set up tone definitions etc. as you have to do when using Analog cards.
