Maximum Dialing Speed

I have been using Voiceguide for sometime and originally purchased the dialler option although to date have not had to use it. Now I have a project where the dialer might be an ideal platform of an application. The hardware setup is a PC running W2K with a Dialogic D4PCI card.

 

The application will be to dial a number and immediately connection is made, to drop the call and dial the next number. This is to be used as part of a load testing application to test out an automated response system attached to a web server. The ideal would be to use the 4 lines of the D4PCI to place a set number of calls in the minimum amount of time.

 

From experience what is the maximum throughput (ie dialling, then dropping the line and being able to dial again) for a D4PCI?

 

Are there any limits imposed within VoiceGuide and the dialler option?

The time taken to do each call would consist of:

 

1. Dialing time.

2. Time waiting for call to be answered.

3. Time to hangup the call

4. Pause time between calls.

 

Dialing time depends on how many digits need to be dialed, but is usually not more then about 3 seconds.

It takes about a second to hangup the call.

For analog lines there is a wait time of 2 seconds between end of last call and start of another call.

And the time waiting for call to be answered depends on your phone system setup and how long it would take for the call to be answered.

 

So if it takes 5 seconds for call to be answered then time per call is: 2+5+1+2=10 seconds.

So you should be able to make 6 calls per minute on each analog line.

 

That would give you 1440 calls per hour on a 4 line analog system.
