Guest Giampietro Orsini Report post Posted 07/28/2005 10:27 AM We have a licensed version of Voiceguide Professional 4 lines and till now we have used ver. 4.7.12. I'd like to know if there are upgrades (not to ver. 5 but still remaining with ver. 4) of it and where i can get them. Thanks in advance Share this post Link to post

Guest Giampietro Orsini Report post Posted 07/29/2005 08:43 AM It would mean that if version 4.x that we buyed from you corrupts for a disaster (which luckily is not our situatuon) or if we didn't upgraded when they were avalable (which is our situation) we can do it no more. I could understand a "no support on discontinued versions" but this is a strange behaviour indeed toward users who buyed the software from you. Share this post Link to post
Guest Giampietro Orsini Report post Posted 07/29/2005 10:24 AM And the advice to buy the upgrade you gave to other users isn't too correct IMO, also if it 'd bring you more money. For my applications the features included in ver 4.x, which is already ours since we bought it from you, are enough, i recently discovered some bugs in the version we use that i saw in this forum were corrected in later 4.x releases. Why should i pay to get the 5.x if i'd only need to download the latest 4.x release? It's not a correct way to behave with users which supported you in the past buying your products. SupportTeam Report post Posted 07/29/2005 11:15 PM The version which you have is over 3 years old now and has been superseded. All v4.x releases have now been superseded, and as such they are no longer available. This is a fairly standard practice for software publishers - otherwise we'd need to keep every version ever released available for download and upgrade and this is just not practical. Guest Giampietro Orsini Report post Posted 07/30/2005 07:24 AM It would be easy to keep at least the last, bug free version of every level of the release available, last 3.x, last 4.x and so on, i obviously see it as a commercial thing to force users to upgrade. This isn't fair. Lucky us, not all software producers have this policy and, despite the fact that i like the software, i'll take it in consideration should i have need of improvements in my applications. For now, i'll keep the bugs and my application will continue to work as they did in all these years. Thanks for your support. Cordially Share this post Link to post
