E1 / Ports 23 And 24 Error

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone.

Im having a knightmare with the config.xml. The example 30 port and 120 port E1 configs didnt work for me properly so ive created my own ( see below )

ISDIAG reports that my first available line is on B2T1, so i started there and it seems to work so far. However, Lines 23 and 24 report an error ( Error Openin D Channel ). 23/24 got me thinking that its a config issue and that the cards or VG think im on T1.

The cards are are D600 JCT 1e1's - i dont have a second E1 in at the moment ( im just working with Board 2 )

any help much appreciated.

Probably best for you to try and get the first E1 line working (dtiB1).

Then you'd just use the first 30 entries in the 120 line demo Config.xml.

If you cannot get dtiB1 working and must use dtiB2 then your Config.xml should just contain the entries 31-60 from the 120 line demo Config.xml

Here is the cut-and-paste of entries 31-60 from that file. Note the dxxx naming progression:

Actually, ive found the problem:

Non DM3 boards use the naming convention as follows:

B1C1 - B8C2 for board 1

B9C1 - B16C2 for board 2

see note below from Intel site:

DM3 E1 dxxx channels are allocated contiguously. On earlier-generation products , they are allocated with a 2-channel gap. For example, with earlier-generation products, the names dxxxB1C1-dxxxB8C2 would be assigned for the first card and dxxxB9C1-dxxxB16C2 for the second card in a system. Notice that device names dxxxB8C3 and dxxxB8C4 do not exist. By contrast, for a DM3 DualSpan E1, the naming convention is contiguous: dxxxB1C1-dxxxB15C4.
